LEARNING OUTCOMES: SPAN 2312

• Demonstrate the differences between the usage of the indicative mood and the subjunctive mood when communicating in Spanish.
• Use the present and past subjunctives expressing need, desire, emotion, future events, hope, etc.
• Use the imperative mood and all its command forms.
• Use the present and past perfect tenses of verbs in all moods.
• Use the conditional tense and “if” clauses.
• Use additional verb phrases and expressions and the prepositions “por” and “para”.
• Converse using basic vocabulary to include: geographical location and historical references; community and cultural references; sports and artistic events; educational and professional terms related to careers and fields of study.
• Increase listening and speaking skills through practices.
• Increase reading and understanding skills of cultural and literary pieces.
• Complete both oral and written tests on grammatical structures and vocabulary throughout the semester.
• Experience the Spanish language and culture outside the classroom.
