Prof. Gary M. Conners is a practicing artist and member of the art faculty of Lone Star College-North Harris in Houston, Texas. Originally a native of New Jersey, Prof. Conners international experience included a three-year residency in Korea where he studied art, language, and culture. While there, he developed an avid interest in traditional East Asian brush painting, especially as interpreted through the immediacy of Zen. In addition to his teaching, Prof. Conners writes art reviews, poetry, and short stories and is creating serial art works in his home-based studio that are composed of various media including acrylic painting, monotype, stencil, and collage from hand-tinted paper.
