Gain a deeper appreciation of the history and styles of Western music’s rich and varied tradition, starting around 400AD to the present.  The course will include an understanding of the basics of music, and listening and history of Medieval, Renaissance, Baroque, Classical, Romantic, and Modern music.  No prior musical experience required.

This course may be used to fulfill the arts requirement in the 2013-2014 and 2014-2015 core.
