The courses Dr. Alon teaches include:

Music Theory I-IV (AA) – MUSI 1211/1212/2211/2212
A music majors course in music theory, covering such topics as music fundamentals, voice leading, Common Practice Era harmonic analysis, form, advanced chromatic harmony, and post-tonal analytic tools.

Professional Development for Musicians – MUSC 1191
A non-transferable workforce course available by audition/interview only to provide emerging musicians with the pre-professional skills they need to succeed in the music industry. Topics include introductory music law and business, creating a portfolio, audition and interviewing techniques, and more.

Appreciating Music (C) – MUSI 1306
An introduction to the elements and history of music to help listeners gain a broader appreciation.  (CORE COURSE)

The music department offers over 40 different courses, including core courses (MUSI 1306, 1307, 1310), the complete AA degree coursework, several ensembles, and private lessons in voice, instruments, and composition.
