Tryouts

Tryouts are CLOSED to the public. While we love to hear about how many students are interested in joining the Dance Team, it is a competitive process due to limited space. Only twenty (20) applicants who excel at tryouts will be chosen to be a part of the team for the following Fall and Spring semester.

Participants must be at all phases of the audition process.
Participants must be able to commit to the Dance Team.
Participants must bring a completed application.

Tentative Schedule

Prior to tryouts, please ensure that you have completed application (including a picture) and have chosen an all black outfit to wear during tryouts. Tryouts will be held in the Dance Studio in the College Center building (118).

8:30 am Arrive, register, and stretch

9:00 am Warm up, stretch, learn across the floor combinations, as well as tryout routine.

11:00 am
Tryouts begin. You will tryouts in groups of 4. You will demonstrate right and left splits, jete leaps, and a double turn. You will show the across the floor combination as well as the routine.

The Dance Team will be announced immediately following tryouts. If you make the team you will need to provide your own black jazz shoes. All other uniforms and supplies are provided by the college. Those who make the Dance Team will have a mandatory practice on Friday, August 23 from 9:00-3:00 in the Dance Studio.
