Distance Learning Council
Mission Statement
The
Lone Star College System Distance Learning Council (DLC) is chaired by the District Director for Distance Learning with standing membership held by each college's distance learning coordinator. Typically, the college's distance learning committee chairperson is also the college's distance learning coordinator. However, when they are differing individuals, the commitee chairperson also serves on the DLC. Three additional members from each college are appointed by their instructional vice-presidents with these members serving staggered, two-year terms. The DLC works with the Colleges' Distance Learning Committees and Instructional Deans to help assure the delivery of distance learning programs and services that meet the needs of faculty and students. The DLC membership is distributed to represent: Faculty, Continuing Education, Student Services, Academic Support Centers/Libraries, IT Deans, and Instructional Deans.
