  • Why did you join this organization? To make sure that all INDS students have access to outside organizations.
  • That are your personal goals for the semester? To get more INDS students involved in the Interior Design Student Chapter.
  • What are your goals for the organization? To broaden the number of associations that we are involved in and reach out through community service projects.
  • What are your career interests? Residential Interior Design.
  • What are your hobbies outside of school? Reading, Family, etc.

I am 36 and have been married for 15 years. I have two children. I have lived in the Woodlands for over ten years and never plan on leaving! This is my last year at Lone Star College-Kingwood.

  • Why did you join this organization? To be involved with an organization that relates and is connected with interior design.
  • What are your personal goals for the semester? To maintain a 3.9 GPA or higher; socialize with peers more; pass Building Systems with an A!
  • What are your goals for the organization? Have more students get involved with the student chapter; increase awareness of campus and the community.
  • What are your career interests? Residential (and maybe Commercial) Interior Design.
  • What are your hobbies outside of school? Bowling, Drawing, Painting, and Dance.

I am a native Houstonian. I fell in love with both performing and visual art when I was a child. Interior Design has always been something I was interested in, and I have constantly found myself designing for myself and others. I am unique and creative. I love to be challenged and to help others. I am always ready for what is next!

  • What are your career interests? To pursue a career in Interior Design and kitchen and bath.
  • What are your hobbies outside of school? Traveling and scrapbooking.

I have been involved witht he student chapter for two years. I am a recepient of the ASID/NKBA Scholarship 2008 in addition to acheiving the President's List 2008-2010, Phi Theta Kappa membership, the Outstanding Interior Design Student Award 2009-2010, and a position as the Student Chapter Treasurer 2010-2011.

I am the mother of four, and after 25 years, I met up with a high school friend who I married. I have always enjoyed looking at architecture and designs everywhere I go. Color and design have always been a big part of my life.

  • What are your hobbies outside of school? Golf, Tennis and Twirling.

I live my life through color and design. I am originally from the tip of Texas, but found my way up east to Houston. I enjoy playing golf when I have free time and work at Home Goods in Atascasita. After finishing my degree in Interior Design, I plan to go to the University of Houston the continue my degree in Interpersonal Communication.

  • What are your personal goals for the semester? Learn more about building systems and architectural design.
  • What are your goals for the organization? Help educate other Interior Design students about the benefits of organizations such as ASID, NKBA and others.
  • What are your career interests? Ideally, to assist a designer who owns his/her own firm.
  • What are your hobbies outside of school? Traveling, reading, and hanging out with family.

After working in the banking industry for many years, I decided that after my children were grown, I would pursue a career that would challenge my artistic side and Interior Design was a perfect fit.

  • What are your career interests? I enjoy all aspects of Interior Design.

  • Why did you join this organization? To further interests of interior design.
  • What are your personal goals for the semester? To create a fabulous portfolio; increase visibility of LSC Interior Design in the Houston metro community; involve other students.
  • What are your goals for the organization? Increase membership and networking with professional organizations.
  • What are your career interests? I love kitchen and bath, but I think that I will specialize in aging in place and accessibility.
  • What are your hobbies outside of school? Piano, handwearing, spinning (with a wheel), herb gardening, and fruit trees.

I am a native Texan, and part of the third generation to graduate from Galena Park High School. My husband and I have been married for 29 years and have three college-aged children. We have lived in Katy since 1996 and are in the process of building an accessible home for my parents.

This is my second time as a college student, and I am pursuing a career change that will allow me to realize and use my passion for design.
