Community Engagement

Goal:

Promote community engagement and identify strategies to increase low income and student-of-color matriculation into college and success rates.

Current Status:

Five community events are planned at the individual Lone Star Colleges for the 2009 – 2010 academic year. LSC-CyFair and LSC-Tomball held community conversation events in the fall 2009 semester. Over 65 community members participated, giving their feedback to the colleges regarding how they felt we could better serve our students. LSC-Kingwood and LSC-Montgomery will hold community conversation events in the spring of 2010. LSC-North Harris will hold a similar event in the spring of 2010 as well.
The information shared by our community members is being compiled and reviewed. Feedback will be given to the participants via the contact information they submitted at the event.
