Barbara Butler
BIOGRAPHY
Barbara Butler has been teaching piano at Lone Star College - Kingwood for over 10 years. She has been playing with the Kingwood Pops Orchestra for over four years. She received her Master of Music from the University of Illinois and Bachelor of Music from Louisiana State University both in piano performance.
As an audition winner she has performed piano concertos with the New Orleans Summer Pops, the Baton Rouge and the LSU Orchestras. In January of 2007 she became a licensed music practitioner through the Music for Healing and Transition Program. This training qualifies her to play therapeutic music for the ill in all kinds of medical care facilities including hospice and care homes. Presently, she is playing for those who have Alzheimer's and dementia at Eden Terrace care facility and other assisted living facilities.
